Is Scambook A Scam?

Is Scambook a legit website?

At first glance, Scambook may seem a lot like the BBB. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Scambook is not fair to the businesses listed on their website because these businesses must pay $$$ to scambook in order to respond to complaints.

There's no way for merchants to respond to accusations without paying money.

Is Scambook a scam? Check out these sites and judge for yourself:

We are victims of Scambook they let people to post lies about the companies without investigating first, if the complaint is true or not. Scambook is own by lawyers one of the owners is Jay Eldelnson and he is a class action attorney
We can report them to the FBI go to the link and file a report.
WE NEED TO CLOSE THEM DOWN.

  3. Is it not 'freedom of speech'? Every consumer is entitled to an opinion and they're entitled to share that opinion. I have just been scammed by a company recently and have found out I wasn't the only one. They have taken my money and not delivered my product. I have also received shocking customer service. Consumers need to be made aware of scammers and scambook seems ideal for doing just that.

    1. @profound beauty - why do busineses have to pay money to scambook in order to resolve complaints? That's not free speech. Also, when you submit a complaint at scambook you're giving them permission to sell your personal information to an attorney. They're profiting from your misfortune.

  4. Is this Scambook a new company? They just hit me up with an "Urgent" message that someone complained about my business because they didn't properly read the 'Terms and conditions' and couldn't return something, the customer acknowledges that they didn't read the T&Cs but felt that it was 'unfair' so lodged a complaint. Now "Scambook" wants me to pay them $99 to come to an 'agreement' with this customer? Why would I pay them to do this? Then I find out they have an F Rating with the BBB and sell customer information to attorneys. Crazy.

  5. Hello Mark, talk about mistaken identity. I found my own website URL conveniently placed at the top of one of their complaint pages yet i have nothing to do with the product people are complaining about. In other words, Scambook had taken my domain name and placed it on their website as being the domain that the customers are complaining about.

I'm not sure what led them to believe that my domain name was skin care product in question. But it pisses me off and i intend to get it removed no mattter what.

I contacted Scambook about this and asked them to remove my url from their complaint page. I explained to them that i have nothing to do with the product and i dont live in Utah. I gave them 24hrs to remove my url. They not only ignored my request but they couldnt be bothered to reply.

Next thing to do is to contact their hosting provider. I have been in the hosting business for 12yrs so i know what i have to do to have them shut down. It seems to me that Scambook is renting or colocating a server or two at the webair facility. Even so, it is Webairs responsiblity to ensure that all their colocated clients are adhering to their TOS and AUP and this includes any complaints or DMCA's filed against them.

I will submit a DMCA to webair in the coming weeks to have Scambooks business investigated including the removal of my domain name from their complaint page, which is in error. If they do not abide by the DMCA the next course of action will take place.

I've had it with outfits that thing they can go around bad mouthing others on the Internet and i intend to do something about it.

  6. I'm not actually from a company,I was someone who submitted a complaint against a company. As it turned out, they are happy to reimburse me, however they want me to remove the complaint first.
I cant do that until the company agree to a monthly fee.
    Scambook is costing me 6k.
    They are blackmailers.
You can only call what they do as extortion, and they need to be taken out of existence.

  8. Have studied complaintsboard.com, and you are correct, they are themselves a scam site run by petty extortionists who take advantage of international borders and flaws in US legislation. Along with their knowledge of effective Google SEO, they can create their own racketeering enterprise, which is then used as an aid to other nerdowells. The site should be permanently barred from the Internet.

Until that happens however, there are things you can do to fight back. Think about this: Complaintsboard.com hides behind legislation which protects them ONLY if they are not content editors. Their terms of use state that anyone can complain about anything they want to, and that CC's owners/operators will not interfere in any way.

SO - lay out a little trap for them to violate the CDA. Simply go to their site and create a new complaint, of which complaintsboard.com is the target. So use their own site against them.

To really make it effective, you should make the same complaint at several sites including ripoffreport.com plus the others (as many as you can) and then include a link to your complaint on complaintsboard.com

When they delete the complaint then it can be legally argued that they change to an editor status, and thus a legal theory can be made that they lose their protection under the CDA. Frankly the FTC should have barred the site years ago. You and everyone you know should file similar complaints with the FTC.

You should have as many of your friends as possible repeat the very same process. Ask them to ask their friends to do the same. Using this method you might be surprised at how quickly your links will rise to the top of google searches.

If you can get this done, it should be effective at drawing attention to the true nature of what complaintsboard.com really is.
